Autoclave Aerated Concrete (AAC)

Autoclave Aerated Concrete (AAC) is lightweight concrete material developed in Sweden in the 1920’s. Manufactured using a process that creates millions of air bubbles in the concrete results in a product that is 1/5th the weight of regular concrete, an efficient insulator, an effective fire barrier and excellent sound deadener.

ADOLPH JOHNSON & SON CO. became aware of the availability of AAC in the United States in 2000. We soon started utilizing the material in applications that benefitted particular buildings’ purposes. AAC panels are used as load bearing or non-load barring walls for a thermally efficient, cost effective and attractive exterior.

AAC block or panel walls and panel roofs and floors are used to provide fire rated structures and/or sound insulation. This unique building material offers many qualities that can benefit and enhance a building’s performance. ADOLPH JOHNSON & SON CO. has the expertise to deliver AAC’s advantages to a project
